What are compact balances?

Compact portable balances are convenient, portable and easy to use weighing scales that can be used in a variety of settings including laboratory, industrial or education settings. Scaletec provides a selection of compact scales and balances for measuring everything from samples for science experiments to small precious metals for jewellery. The CB and Dune offer streamlined features and are the smallest size scale for portable weighing.

The Core compact balances offer a unique Shockprotect feature that makes it a very durable scale that is able to withstand accidental dropping of heavy equipment onto the weighing pan, preventing internal damage to the scale components. The Highland balances include internal calibration and Shockprotect as well as an RS-232 and USB interface. LBK scales are robust, heavy duty scales for industrial weighing applications, includes built in batteries and solid ABS housing.

What are the benefits of using a compact balance?

Compact balances and scales are highly versatile weighing machines that are well suited to almost any basic weighing application. The main advantages of using a compact balance over other types of scale or balance primarily come down to cost. Compact balances and scales are usually much cheaper than other scales and balances as they tend to have lower weighing capacities and overall levels of precision.

Despite lacking in features compared to other scales and balances, compact balances are small in size, fully portable and often include battery operation; making them ideal for outdoor weighing experiments or non-permanent lab or classroom environments.
